Flux in Congress but BJP in a tizzy

Any unbiased observer can see that the Congress party is in a state of flux with the baton passing from the old guards to the next generation. Some self-proclaimed leaders who lack electoral endorsement and are out of touch with the younger generation are making unfounded comments and observations. These outdated regional small-timers are unable to fathom the all-India appeal and popularity of the national leadership and in the long run are bound to fizzle out as they lack mass base. Every party has Scindia-type non-performers who lick the cream and are always looking for greener pastures when the going gets tough.

The current developments in the Congress party are a sign off healthy democratic culture unlike BJP where the old guard is unceremoniously shunted out and put in the Mookdarshak Mandal and their seats in Lok Sabha are usurped. BJP leaders and supporters feel small that in the Congress, party leaders can hold different views than and write to the High Command while in their case even Narendra Modi and Amit Shah dare not express an opinion which goes against that of the High Command in Nagpur.

The concerted Gandhi bashing is a sign of nervousness in the BJP camp because they know that the Gandhis, especially Sonia Gandhi who has defeated them twice in the past and Rahul Gandhi’s combative spirit, are a threat. Modi’s false pretense of progress and nationalism stand exposed.

The common man is getting crushed in the worst economic crisis ever, wreaked by Modi’s ineffectual and faulty governance. The self-proclaimed 56” insults our Galwan martyrs and cannot gather courage to name China as the intruder even from the ramparts of the Red Fort. The party looks for a ace saver by resorting to Modi’s favourite and time-tested atkana-bhatkana-latkana technique.

Historical evidence shows that false propaganda and character assassination are the basic tools of BJP’s political shenanigans. The ruling party and its sympathisers are resorting to maligning and tarring the main opposition party as the ineffectual Modi government has nothing positive to show for the last six years. The personal attacks on Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka are a sign of desperation in the BJP ranks. The Congress seems to have become the voice of the disillusioned populace as Modi is happy feeding the peacock and helping his rich corporate Godfathers get richer.

BJP is also flustered that the Congress has bench strength because the Modi-Shah party has to import functionaries from RSS or recruit retired bureaucrats and judges and, lure turncoats from Congress. BJP’s predicament is understandable because at a time when India is facing the worst economic crisis ever all the BJP has to show for its performance is a man who killed the animal spirits in Indian economy feeding and running with a peacock.

Instead of fishing in the troubled waters BJP, where two people hold the whole party to ransom, should indulge in some honest self-appraisal. People with such dictatorial bent of mind cannot appreciate the play of open democratic forces in a party like the Congress. It is hard for Modi and his minions to become Aatmanirbhar and Congress-mukt because in terms of governance BJP governments at the Centre and in states have been non-performers and the party has prospered only when the voters have lapped up Modilies.
